When the CrossReads Team was getting together and designing the initial site, we posted a little bit about each of ourselves on the About Page. Team member Heather Bixler added “Heather’s Word for 2013.” When I went to write mine, I already knew my word as it had come to me back in late November when CrossReads was no more than a thought in God’s mind.
I don’t think things are random. I think God often puts very definite pieces into our lives even if we don’t quite know where they fit at the time.
My word that continued to whisper in my soul was “Healing.” It was very clear to me how many people are hurting in this world, how many people need God’s healing to touch their lives in a significant and deep way. I began to sense God calling me to make Healing my watch word for 2013.
So it was with a smile that I read my Team’s words. Heather chose HOPE and Shelley Hitz chose FAITH.
As with so many other things “God,” it amazes me how well things fit. It’s not an almost fit, or a kind of fit if you make it work. It is an amazing, wondrous, beyond anything you could envision fit. And so it is with the three of us and these three words.
You see, I believe that real healing in God starts with faith and ends with hope. The faith required is that of the size of a mustard seed–nearly none at all. So if you’re hurting, realize that it doesn’t take mountains of faith or effort. It takes the FAITH to simply finally come to the point where you say, “God, I need help.”
As you seek Him in your life, holding onto faith as you go, healing will come. People–the right people–will come into your life. The Holy Spirit will begin working miracles in your heart. As all of this happens, you will begin to feel once again what HOPE really means. Living rather than just existing. Triumph even in the face of trials and storms.
So now we ask you to share with us as 2013 gets underway, what is your Word for 2013? Why is it significant to you? How do you feel God working in your life in that area?
Feel free to post and tell us below!
Have an inspired day!
