With everything going on these days in the world, it’s easy to get really worried about the state of things. I find myself more and more wondering what I can actually do about any of it. What can little old me do to make a difference in the world?
God reminded me today that there’s plenty I can do.
I can ask God for greater faith.
I can pray for my world.
I can raise my children to love God.
I can show love to the person in front of me.
I can pass out a tract.
I can share the gospel.
I can be an example for those near me.
I can live like God wants, each step of the day.
I can do what God tells me right in this moment, right now.
No matter what else is happening to me, I can always do certain things, and they’re the things that truly matter.
Psalms 39:7 - And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope [is] in thee.
Sometimes lately I’ve forgotten this. With stressful politics, natural disasters, scary things happening all over the world – it’s easy to get my eyes off what really has the power in this world…that is WHO really has the power.
God is still in control.
And God still has something for me to do.
About the Author:
Sherry grew up in various cities around northern and central California. This gave her all sorts of stories that sat and festered in her brain, waiting to be let loose. She eventually went to college in Wisconsin, where she met her equally frenetic husband, Rich. They have six (yes, count them) children, two dogs and a cat, and currently reside in a madhouse in the southern California area. As a family, they enjoy being active in their local church. Sherry spends her time writing when not caring for Granny, the kids, the dogs, the cat and any number of strays in the neighborhood.
