This whole writer’s journey caught me completely by surprise and, to this day, I’m a bit stunned by the ride.

Blame it all on prayer. In 2004 I committed to pray every day, right out of the sack, for at least an hour. A year later I woke in the morning from a very cool dream. As the week went on, the dream wouldn’t let go. It expanded in my brain until I HAD to start writing or just… explode. That story? One Night With a Rock Star. It’s the novel that transformed me into a passionate storyteller.

Two years later, in the middle of prayer, I asked a question and God answered. I yelped in shock but also had to admit the answer made so many of my faith elephants-in-the-room make sense. For the next month, every morning began with more mind-blowing insights. When I showed the 250 pages of notes to my hubby and an author friend, they both said, “This needs to be a novel.”

The journey of writing THE FALL was much more than writing a novel. It was a pilgrimage that crushed, shaped and changed me; the way I think, the way I pray, the way I love, even the way I view current events.

BTW, I’m a mom of four, married to the best man alive, have a background in broadcast journalism and, many moons ago, worked as a model and actress.

I love old barns, old movies, hot chocolate chip cookies and someday I’d like to sail around the world. Guess I’d better learn to sail first.

  1. My favorite way to read is kindle.

  2. After almost 2 years my favourite is Kindle. Miss the paper but ebooks ere more easy to carry around

  3. Terry Galloway Trahan :

I love to read Kindle format, that way I can read anywhere as long as I have books downloaded! Which for me, is not a problem, I have “one-click” turned on! HAHAHAHA

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  4. I don’t have a kindle, I don’t tweet, I’m not on facebook, I just like to hold a real book in my hands and read it.
Old fashioned – probably- but that is what I enjoy.

  5. Lisa Capehart :

I absolutely love real books, but my kindle has taken its place in my loves, as well. The ability to enlarge the print, and take tons of books everywhere I go with no extra wieght or bulk is fantastic!

  6. My favorite way to read is with a paperback (hardback when I can get them), but since receiving a Kindle, I am beginning to really like reading with it. I still love seeing the story on paper! You just can’t beat that. 🙂

    • I agree, Amber. There’s still nothing like holding a book written on real paper but I do like the font-enlargement feature and the fact tons of books are tote-able. Still, give me a real book, an endless cup of tea and chocolate & I’m in heaven!

  7. I enjoy reading by Kindle and paperback.

  8. Robin in NC :

I’ve had my Kindle Fire since Christmas, so far I’ve only used it for Bible Study, Church & Sunday School…the electronic index is so easy to use rather than feeling like an idiot when your mind goes blank on where the book is in The Bible, especially the books that we don’t read as often! 😉 Otherwise, I still love the feel of a paperback!

  9. I’ve certainly gotten used to reading on Kindle. Yeah – real books are nice. But not as nice as Kindle!

  10. My favorite way to read are paper books.

  11. I love to read on my Kindle or read paperbacks.

  12. Shannon Hogan :

My favorite way to read in definitely a real book! Nothing can take the feel the touch the whole experience BUT since receiving a KOBO love filling it up with books and carrying it with me while traveling or Dr. office, etc. Always a variety of books to choose from, even a Bible!!

  13. It depends on my mood. If I am running out the door, I grab my Kindle. If I want to sit and relax, I love the old-fashioned feel of turning the pages of a book!

  14. I love BOTH kindle and nook! 🙂 One for each hand! 😉

  15. Kindle is now my favorite way to read 🙂

  16. picturerazzi :

I prefer reading digital books on my iPhone or Kindle Fire.

  17. I like my kindle, but paperback is still my favorite!

  18. I like to read via kindle, but I think reading old fashioned paper books will never go out of style!

  19. Mary Preston :

I think I will always prefer a hard copy.

  20. Barbara Wicker Haynes :

    I love my kindle!!

  21. I enjoy my Kindle, but a real book is still my favorite!

  22. Cheryl Baranski :

I love to read books on my kindle.
I do love the paperbacks but I
try to avoid them. I am allergic to
    the chemicals in the paper.
    I am a book junkie!

  23. My favorite way to read is large print paperback. When I am finished I can take them to my rural church library. I have just started using a kindle ap recently on my laptop.

  24. I only read books on my kindle fire now…before when my daughter was in the hospital I had to take a dozen books, now all I need is my kindle

  25. I prefer to read hardback books. They are more durable.

  26. I’m getting used to kindle now, but there’s nothing better than a paperback (I prefer paperbacks than hard covers)… I just love my shelves and I’m very proud of them. I can see my own story, all my phases, through my book collection. And I love the smell of paper… What about losing yourself on a bookstore for hours? So much better than Amazon online…
